"The Creator," directed by Gareth Edwards, was filmed using the Sony FX3, a camera that costs only $4000. This price for that camera is crazy reasonable for the camera's capabilities. The fact that it was chosen for a major movie challenges the idea that “you must invest in expensive cinema cameras and equipment to create BLOCKBUSTER films”.
The Sony FX3 is a beast in low-light situations like dark rooms, forest, even in the darkest of nights. The FX3 is also super small and compact, it can fit in your pocket which makes it versatile for various shooting scenarios. What I honestly like about it is that its affordability allows production teams to allocate more funds towards hiring more talented individuals instead of spending money on expensive cinema cameras and lenses.
This camera will prove that creativity is more important than the budget.
